What is Podiatry?
Podiatrists are health professionals who diagnose and treat conditions that affect the feet and ankles.
The human foot is a complex structure made up of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues. It is designed for mobility and to support the body’s weight.
There are many causes for foot disorders, such as injury, arthritis, diabetes and deformities. Podiatrists treat these conditions with a variety of methods, including exercise and stretching, manual manipulation, shockwave therapy, and orthotics (custom-made arch supports).
A podiatrist can assist in preventing foot problems. They can advise about shoes, exercise, and other things to help keep your feet healthy.
