What is Podiatry?
Podiatrists are focused on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the feet, ankles and lower limbs.
The human foot is a complex structure made up of bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and soft tissues. It is designed for mobility and to support the body’s weight.
Many factors can cause foot problems, including injury, arthritis, and diabetes. These conditions can all be treated by podiatrists through a range of methods such as stretching, manual manipulation, and shockwave therapy.
Podiatrists also play an important role in the prevention of foot disorders. They can advise on footwear, exercise, and other steps to keep your feet healthy.
